Annabelle watched some portion of a horror movie last night. Mom was watching the show and Annabelle was there too. The other two were in the room listening to their Mom telling stories. Told Annabelle not to watch the show, she obeyed.
Later that night, when it was sleeping time, Annabelle was crying. Her mom told me that she is afraid because of what she watched on the TV. I prayed for God's protection upon her, to take away the scary images that she seen on the TV and to grant her peace in her mind, heart and spirit. Also prayed for the blood of Christ to protect her and angels to encamp around her. Thank God that she can sleep after that. All thanks be to God.

Chicken Pox
Clarissa is having Chicken Pox. Its' been 2 days and her body is dotted with the Chicken Pox spots. Once a cheerful and active girl has become quiet and always scratching her body due to the Chicken Pox. Kesian her. But the good thing is that she still smile at me and hug me when I reached home. And she still verbalised "I love you Daddy" as often as she can. That really make my day. Will be praying for you my dear Clarissa.

My children
Annabelle is 5 years old already. Praise God that she has grown to be a good sister to both Clarissa and Barnabas. I enjoyed watching her taking care of her sister and brother in a very loving and caring way. Well, of course there are times when they will fight (Clarissa and Annabelle) but overall Annabelle is more of the gentle spirit. The opposite is Clarissa who wants thing her way. She would just grab the snacks or toys from her brother or even Annabelle. Barnabas is just watching, observing and immitating what he learnt from his sisters.
I enjoyed being with all of them. Both Annabelle and Clarissa would want to sit with their daddy. Barnabas is more sticky to his mummy than to me. But nowadays he has been willing to be with me more often which is great. He would greet me when I reached home and willing to give me a hug which I treasure most.
Clarissa though seems tough outside, is still very gentle and soft inside. She still wants to have the comfort and security of being in the arms of her daddy. I loves it when she comes to me, climb on my lap and makes herself comfortable, sucking her finger while holding her 'bantal busuk'. I wonder whether I ever did that to my father.

Shy Barnabas
Hahaha Barnabas....why are you so shy?
You showed your excitement when Daddy arrived home. You followed Clarissa in shouting and greeting Daddy. While Clarissa reached Daddy and hugged Daddy, you would stop from reaching Daddy. You would then just smile sheepishly, shyly. From your look Daddy knows that you are still shy.
Anyway... Daddy is still happy to see you running to Daddy when Daddy comes home. Hopefully in due time, you would run to Daddy and hug Daddy like your sister Clarissa. Daddy would love that.

Walking with you
Dear Barnabas, you know that it is very difficult for me to play together with you. You prefers your mummy than your daddy. Well, that is understandable as you sees your mummy more than your daddy. Furthermore, daddy always like to "bully" you and treat you in a stricter and "harsher" way than your sisters.
So, to be able to walk together with you and you willing to hold daddy's hand is indeed a joy and blessing to daddy. I know the time will come when you will be independent and a strong boy and you would not want any "help" from daddy. But before that time comes, daddy hope that you would want to hold daddy's hand more often.
I love you Barnabas.
Daddy.

Please Don't Drink and Drive
Many people think that drinking is cool, that girls are impressed if they drink. Signs of Machoness and whateverness. But many failed to see that the danger posed by drinking affect not only themselves but others who are not even related to them.
To my children, Annabelle, Clarissa and Barnabas, may this story be meaningful to you all.
David, a rich guy, loved fast cars and he did have a few in his possession.
He loved to speed and could not be bothered about breaking speed limits.
Many a times he was caught by the cops and speed radars, fined, but still he never bothered until.
One day as he was driving at a very high speed as usual, he saw a cop following him.
The cop overtook him finally and asked him to stop and checked his license.
He then took out his pad and started Writing, and then handed over the sheet of paper to David.
How much was this one going to cost?!!!
Wait a minute.
What was this????
Some kind of joke? Certainly not a ticket.
David began to read:
"Dear David,
Once upon a time I had a lovely daughter.
She was six when killed by a car.
You guessed it - a speeding driver's car.
A fine and three months in jail, and the man was free.
Free to hug his three daughters.
I only had one, and I'm going to have to wait until Heaven,
before I can ever hug her again.
A thousand times I've tried to forgive that man.
A thousand times I thought I had.
Maybe I did, but I need to do it again.
Even now.
Pray for me..
And be careful, David, my son is all I have left."
David turned around in time to see the cop's car pull away and head down the road.
He watched until it disappeared.
A full 15 minutes later, he too, pulled away and drove slowly home, praying for forgiveness and hugging a surprised wife and kids when he arrived.
Life is precious. Handle it with care.

Wedding Finger...why the fourth finger?
Many times I wonder why the wedding ring must be put on the fourth finger. Well, here is one interesting thoughts on that.
Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?
There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....
Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
& the Last (Little) finger represents your children
Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip.
Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.
Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... ., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.
Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... ., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.
Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!!
Please try this out......... ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

I have 3 daughters??
Due to his mother wanting to let him have long hair, Barnabas was always being mistaken as a girl. I find it a bit "xxx" (don't know the correct word to use)but I don't really like it when that happens. For his sake, it would be better that he be dressed and looks like a boy.
I guess it is not a big issue for Barnabas as he knows nothing about this matter. It is more of the mother wanting her own way. Why can't it be accepted that he is a boy and let him have a short hair. If ever she wants to have a baby with long hair, get another daughter lah, just don't transform Barnabas into a girl. What is the point of having a son but he is treated as a daughter or being groomed to look like a daughter.
Maybe it is time to get more sons.

The smile on your face
Ahh...what joy to see the smiles on your faces, my children. True joy and happiness or shyness portrayed when all of your smile. It is indeed a pure delight to see your smile. Yes, I am talking about you Annabelle, and you Clarissa and not forgetting you Barnabas. Your smile that makes your daddy feels so delighted. Your smile makes your daddy feel that the challenges in bringing you up is worth it. Your smile that brought a smile on daddy. So contagious are your smiles.
So children, keep on smiling and your daddy will smile with you. When daddy's heart is heavy with other matters, your smile brings comfort and makes daddy know that there are more important things in daddy's life. Daddy loves you all, Annabelle, Clarissa, and you too Barnabas.

Sleeping on my lap
Today is the first time Barnabas fell asleep on my lap. Ya....I really think it is the first time coz I can't remember any other times when he fell asleep on my lap. Of course when he was a little baby maybe got lah but that didn't count lah.
Forced him to sleep at about 3pm just now. Hahaha....yes, had to force him as he normally does not want to sleep if given the choice. After giving him the medicine for flu and cough, let him drink his milk and before he could finish his 6 ounces of milk, he was fast asleep.
Then put the other two girls to sleep also. No, no, no.... I'm not talking about "putting to sleep" when you want to kill your old or sick dog. What I meant is helping my girls to go to sleep. Then I go out from the room to check my email and of course play mosiang.
Then at about 4pm, Barnabas woke up and cried. As usual he would go out from the room and look for someone. He saw me, continue to cry and went to look for his grandma. Haizzz... I think I bullied him so much that he does not want his daddy, prefers his grandma coz his grandma showers him with lots of attention.
Anyway...I took him from his grandma as his grandma wants to prepare Milo drinks. Phew....at least he is willing to allow me to carry him. Took him to the dining table and feed him a strip of kuey teow. Gave him water to drink also. Then he yawned and slumped down on the bench with his head resting on my lap. The eyes opened and closed, opened and closed and slowly he doze off. It's so nice to see him sleeping on my lap, resting peacefully. Wah...another father son moment. Wished I had the camera and capture the moments. Nevermind lah... as long as I can cherish the moments cukuplah.
After a few minutes I know that he is still sleepy. Brought him back to the room and put him to sleep.

Changing hearts
It is interesting to see my children show their loves to me and their mother. I would always ask them whether they love me or not. Their answers would depend on whether I've been "good or bad" to them. If I've been playing with them and they are happy, the answers would always be "Yes, I love you Daddy". But if I've been disciplining them for the wrong things they did, the answer is obvious, "No!".
I really enjoy the affection shown by them, especially my two girls. Annabelle and Clarissa would at times give me a hug before they go to school. Hahaha... that would happened only if they are in a good mood to go to school.
Barnabas has been a bit distanced from me. Not sure why.... maybe I did not give him lots of attention. He would not want to kiss me on the lips but instead would put forward his cheeks for me to kiss. Only after I "pestered" him, would he kiss me on the lips....with an open lips.
